The company changed hands several times and between the periods of 1950 and early 1970s a man by the name David Brown owned the company and he took it to success specializing in racing cars to compete in the world sports car championship.

Aston won this championship in 1959 with the DBR1 claiming victory at Le mans that year.(by the way the DB stands for David Brown the owner of Aston Martin).

As the decade drew to a close, the brand had launched yet another model the DB4 and scored wins at the World Sportscar Championship, the Nürburgring and the RAC Tourist Trophy.

In 1993, Aston Martin introduced the DB7, and it quickly became the most successful Aston Martin ever.

In 2001 Aston Martin launched the hugely powerful and technologically advanced Vanquish and began a program that will result in several new models.
